Significant Dates In Club History

2003 - The kendo program started at the Toyoda Center under Blaine Feyen Sensei.
2004 - Yutaro Matsuura Sensei became the official mentor in the spring of 2004 and accepted the position of Chief Instructor shortly thereafter.
2005 - The Toyoda Center Kendo Program was voted in as an official affiliated club of the Midwest Kendo Federation in November of 2005.
2006 - The club was officially named the Grand Rapids Kendo Kai in February of 2006 as part of the AUSKF
2007 - We become a not for profit organization
2007 - We open a satellite at the Grand Valley State Unitversity Allendale Campus
